2.5 Weeks into the Goal

Okay, so I started at Gold’s Gym on October 13, 2009.  I have stuck to the schedule of 2 days per week hitting the weights and 3 to 5 days per week on cardio.  It’s been pretty easy (if I can use that word) so far.  The most difficult part is just Showing Up!

Actually, on the Gold’s Gym door it says something along the lines of “Showing up is half the battle” and that really is the truth.

Tonight I’m really dragging though.  I really pushed it hard today and now I can hardly stand or walk.  What’s interesting is that my stomach isn’t sore even though I have beat it up over the last week… and I mean really beat it up with sit-ups, crunches, and some really interesting exercises given by the trainers at the gym.

Oh yeah, one more note… I started this to just get in shape and truly feel better about myself… but if I lost a few pounds I wouldn’t have been upset.  What’s interesting is that in the past 2.5 weeks I’ve actually GAINED FIVE POUNDS.  Melissa said it must be muscle but regardless, five pounds is a lot of weight in just a couple weeks.
